My parents ordered a deal that was a two medium, two topping pizza for delivery. The pizza was great and the timing was great. Here's the catch: the delivery driver was a foreigner (no problem with me as half my friends are from outside the US). He didn't speak a word to me, and because my parents ordered the pizza and left me $20, with the total being $18.50 (I ALWAYS tip we'll because I work in the food industry), I had to give him what I had. I gave him $20 and then $3.50 in change (which I hated to do but I scrambled so he wouldn't only get a $1.50 tip. By the end of it he got a $5 tip and I understand change sucks but that's what I had; it was better than $1.50 by a long shot. He left and about half way down my walkway he was throwing his hands up in the air and cussing and yelling about it. Next time I will think twice about trying to be generous.
They almost always get the pizza wrong or don't put the proper amount of sauce or cheese that you requested. They also like to be very scarce with their toppings. They're either in a rush or don't care. About half of the pizza's I get here are disgusting and I regret buying them and sometimes can't even eat them. When I get Papa Johns anywhere else it's always on point. For instance I had a great pizza from a Durham store recently.
Super hit or miss. Sometimes the order is great and sometimes it's how my most recent order was. One pizza was completely burned underneath and the rim, and I mean charcoal burned. The other pizza- the veggies were all burned and the pizza was not cooked. The dough was still... well dough. It may just be this particular location I order from but you never know what kind of pizza you're going to be ordering from Papa John's.
Great place; great pizza; and overall a very nice experience over the phone delivery or walk-in requests. Thank you for keeping your quality up one above the others all the time.
